During the entire swim even well below the surface游动虽然是在水面下进行
there is some light that comes through

It is comforting to know that there is open water above you这能让你知道 上方没有船只
But as you approach the ship, which is tied to a pier, the light begins to fade但在接近停靠码头的船只时 光线就会开始变暗The steel structure of the ship blocks the moonlight船只的钢结构会遮挡住月光
it blocks the surrounding street lamps
还有周围的街灯
it blocks all ambient light
各种环境光都会被遮挡
To be successful in your mission, you have to swim under the ship and find the keel要成功完成任务 你需要游到船底 找到龙骨
the centerline and the deepest part of the ship也就是船下最深的那条中央线
This is your objective
这是你的目标
But the keel is also the darkest part of the ship当然 龙骨也是船上最暗的部分
where you cannot see your hand in front of your face在你眼前 你连自己的手都看不见
where the noise from the ship's machinery is deafening同时 船的轰鸣声震耳欲聋
and where it is easy to get disoriented and you can fail你很容易迷失方向 很容易失败
Every SEAL knows that under the keel
每个海豹队员都知道 在龙骨下
at the darkest moment of the mission
在任务中最为黑暗的时刻
is the time when you must be calm, when you must be composed自己需要冷静 需要镇定
when all your tactical skills
这时 所有的战术技能
your physical power and all your inner strength must be brought to bear身体能力和强大内心 都必须共同派上用场

The ninth week of training is referred to as "Hell Week"训练的第九周被称作"地狱周"

and one special day at the Mud Flats
