I mean, it can't get more depressing
我是说 没有更让人沮丧的了
You have, in fact, already begun to die
你们实际上已经开始迈向死亡
You look great
你们气色很好
Don't get me wrong. And you know, you are youth and beauty不要误解我的话 你们年轻而美丽
You are at the physical peak
你们正值身体巅峰状态
Your bodies have just gotten off the ski slope on the peak of growth and potential你们的身体正处在生长和潜能的滑雪场顶端
and now comes the black diamond mogul run to the grave现在正使用各种滑雪技巧朝坟墓直奔而去
And the weird 1 thing is
奇怪的是
your body wants to die
你的身体希望死亡
On a cellular 2 level, that's what it wants就细胞层面而言 这正是它想要的
And that's probably not what you want
这可能不是你所想要的
I'm confronted by a great deal of grand and worthy 3 ambition from this student body从你们这些学生那里 我了解到了各种宏图大志You want to be a politician, a social worker有人想当政治人物 社会工作者
You want to be an artist
有人想当艺术家
Your body's ambition: Mulch
但身体的志向是 粪土
Your body wants to make some babies
你们身体希望生出一些小孩
and then go in the ground and fertilize 4 things然后到泥土中去滋养大地
That's it
就是这样了
And that seems like a bit of a contradiction这听起来有点矛盾
It doesn't seem even fair
甚至不公平
For one thing, we're telling you, "Go out into the world!"一边我们告诉你 "勇敢迈向世界吧"
exactly when your body is saying, "Hey, let's bring it down a notch一边你的身体却告诉你 "嘿 我们缓缓吧"
Let's take it down"
"让我们歇歇得了"
And it is a contradiction
这确实有些矛盾
And that's actually what I'd like to talk to you about这正是我想跟你们讲的
The contradiction between your body and your mind你身体和心智的矛盾
between your mind and itself
心智和它自身的矛盾

- There occurred nothing that was worthy to be mentioned.没有值得一提的事发生。
