❤ 模仿文本：Rousseau's new passion for Italian music is important. A grand dispute between French and Italian style was brewing 1. Back in Paris, Rousseau continued work on his very French style opera Les Muses 2 Galantes and sought the opinion of the alpha male French composer Rameau.
Rameau was discouraging. He declared the music to be partly the work of an inspired melodist and partly that of a musical ignoramus, adding later that the only good bits were clearly so Italianate that Rousseau couldn't possibly have written them.
