If you find a job a couple of thousand miles away, Skype interview will be certainly cheaper than meeting a person. But you could end up casting you the job, because study finds that video check can make you seem less likable than face to face interview world. Researchers recruited 104 NBA students, most of whom had five-year work experience. Half of the students acted as the job candidates for a position at a fictional 1 company, the other half serve as interviewers. Each candidate interviewed both in person and via video check. It turns out job secrets on video were related to less likable and were less likely to be recommended for the job, and it's not just the interviewees who got worse work with video, interviewers themselves were judged as less personable, competent and trustworthy, even less attracted. The results appeared in the journal Management Decision. It's hard to tell the graph motions and maintain eye contact during video check. If the Skype is your only option, the researchers recommended position your web came as close to eye level as possible and being more expressive 2 than usual. It might led to some actual face time down in the line.
