April 10th 1998 - in Northern Ireland, peace talks conclude with a landmark 1 deal aimed at ending 30 years of a bitter rival reason bloody 2 attacks. Negotiators sign The Good Friday Agreement, calling for power-sharing between Protestants and Catholics in the troubled region.
1912 - the Titanic 3 sets sail from Southampton England on its maiden 4 voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. That journey ends in tragedy just days later when the British luxury liner sinks after hitting an iceberg 5.
1925 - F. Scott Fitzgerald, the Great Gatsby, the novel about the American dream during the warring 20th is first published.
And 1992 - Raunchy comedian 6 Sam Kinison is killed when a pickup 7 truck kisses his car on a California highway. Kinison was 38 years old. Today In History, April 10th, Sandy Kozel, the Associated Press.
