Across the region, markets have been mixed. And overnight, Wall Street hovered 5 near record levels, but ended flat as mixed economic numbers kept a lead on gains. And the Australian dollar has been setting just above 94 US cents.
International Monetary 6 Fund has cut its global growth forecast for 2014 back to 3.4% due to weakness in the first quarter. But the witness says it’s not expected to last.
“To a large extent, it will reflect something which has already happened, which is the negative growth rate in the first quarter in the US. But that’s the path to a large extent. Looking forward from here, things look better…”
