 Don’t Be Scared of Halloween

Don’t be scared of Halloween
Or the things that go unseen
There’s no need to feed the fear
When the ghosts and ghouls are awfully 1 near.

Witches love to swoop 2 on sticks
Formation flying, stunting 3 tricks
Loop the loop and scoop 4 the earth
Flinging sweets for all they’re worth

People say the girl’s a witch
Kids are cruel and love to snitch
They say she’s got a funny squint 5
And sucks on garlic like a mint

Katie knows a spell or two
She can make a toad 6 of you
So don’t go near or else you might
Crouch 7 and croak 8 throughout the night

October thirty first is the time
They taunt 9 her worst and it’s a crime
(chant)”Your family’s fiendish and a clutch
Of witches goblins ghouls and such.”

Chorus

Out on the streets there are sweets about
Katie she’s at home, Katie’s missing out
Out in the night the kids are tricking fun
Katie, Katie she’s at home and Katie’s feeling glum 10
Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie
She’s the Witch who’s scared of Halloween!

[back to verse]

There’s a moonlight mystery,
It’s the Goblin King you’ve got to see
He’s the guy, and ice-cool dood
Who drools and rules the witch’s brood.

The Goblin Dude, now he’s the one,
He calls on Katie to dance his song,
Over the moonbeams and far away
Scattering 11 Stardust ’till the day

Chorus

Out on the streets there are sweets about
Katie, Katie – she’s at home and missing out
Out in the night the kids are tricking fun
Katie Katie she’s at home and feeling glum
Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie
She’s the Witch who’s scared of Halloween !

Baba Yaga, Whippety Stourie
Drac-ular and Frankenstein
Feel the fear
They’re frightfully near
creeping crawling, silently stalking
Inch by inch and bit by bit
Sweeping 12 slowly
Seething 13 below thee

Nothing to do
Coming for you
Run for your life! It’s Halloween! Halloween!

Out on the streets there are sweets about
But Katie – she’s at home, Katie’s missing out
Out in the night the kids are tricking fun
Katie she’s at home, Katie’s feeling glum
Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie
She’s the Witch who’s scared of Halloween!

Out on the streets there are sweets about
But Katie – she’s at home, Katie’s missing out

But Katie she’s at home, Katie’s feeling glum
