Two European satellites that will study the weather in space are finally orbiting the Earth four years after a first launch attempt ended in disaster when a carrier rocket blew up.
The satellites were lifted into space by a Soyuz rocket which took off from Kazakhstan in Central Asia on Sunday without a hitch 1.
The launch is the first stage in the key Cluster II programme.
The satellites, built by the European Space Agency (ESA), will look at interaction between the sun and the Earth.
Scientists hope to gain a better understanding of so-called "space weather," which can sometimes knock out weather or communication satellites orbiting the Earth.
