Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has hailed 1 China as an "inspiration 2 to Africa and elsewhere in the world". The comment came during his meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in the capital Accra on Thursday.
President Mahama said China had always championed the cause of developing countries in the world. Wang Yi, who was on a two-day official visit to Ghana, said the partnership 3 between China and Ghana was the result of joint 4 efforts from both sides. He added that the Chinese government attaches a great deal of importance to advancing friendly relations with the west African country.
Earlier, Wang and his entourage toured the mausoleum of Ghana’s founding president, Doctor Kwame Nkrumah, in Accra. Wang is now on his way to Senegal for the final leg of his four-nation African trip, which included previous stops in Ethiopia and Djibouti.
