Citizens of a North Texas city will get its vote in November to decide they will allow fracking in their community. After eight hours of public testimony 1, Denton City Council Members voted down a petition that would ban new fracking permits.
Officials in the Philippines said the capital Manila would spare a direct hit by typhoon Rammasun. The storm's high winds had ripped off roots and downed trees and electric poles, leaving many areas without power.
As several northern California wildfires had claimed on their wanna-going activity it's now threatening dozens of structures. Authorities in Shasta County said the fire is threatening 68 structures including homes that are under mandatory 2 evacuation order. The fire is now 20% contained.
Students are now learning the lost art of lumberjacking at the annual Adirondack Woodsmen's School being held this summer. The crash force heeded 3 old school lumberjack skills such as sawing, chopping, axing and pole-climbing.
