1. The senate appears to head for a showdown over president Donald Trump's supreme 1 court nominee 2. Democrats 3 have secured the votes for filibuster 4 to block the nominee of Neil Gorsuch. But senate majority leader Mitch McConnell is poised 5 to change long standing 6 senate rules, the so-called nuclear operation to get Gorsuch confirmed .
2. The White House is condemning 7 what it describes as a "Heinous 8" criminal attack against civilians 9 by the Syrian government. Spokesman Sean Spicer said the attack is reprehensible 10 and can't be ignored by the civilized 11 world.
3. A spring storm has dumped up to a foot of snow in some parts of Colorado. Forecasters have predicted about an inch but the snow storm dumped at least 8 inches in Denver and up to a foot in the mountains.
4. And a stunning 12 almost 60 carat diamond known as the "Pink Star" sold for a record $71.2 millions at the Sotheby’s auction 13 in Hong Kong on Tuesday. The sale of the Oval mixed-cut diamond reportedly set a new world record for any diamond or jewel sell.
