1. A wildfire continues to rage 1 in Northern California and so far firefighters have not been able to contain it. The fire on the Santa Cruz Mountains has forced more than 2,400 people from their homes. Officials say the fire has now grown to more than three square miles.
2. Taiwan's president says floods and mudslides from Typhoon Morakot have killed about 500 people. The president says last weekend's storm inflicted 2 the most severe damage on the island in 50 years. It dumped 3 more than 80 inches of rain.
3. Police in Baltimore say Olympic gold medal swimmer Michael Phelps was involved in a two-car crash last night, but was not injured. The driver of the other car was taken to the hospital just to be safe. Two passengers in Phelps' SUV also were not hurt. Police say alcohol 4 was not a factor in the accident.
4. Michael Vick has landed with the Philadelphia Eagles. The quarterback has not played in the NFL since 2007, spending most of the past two years in prison for running a dog fighting operation. The Eagles are expected to do introduce Vick at a news conference this morning.
