1. The National Transportation Safety Board says three of nine presumed victims of a helicopter-plane collision over the Hudson River have been recovered. A small plane collided with a New York City sightseeing helicopter carrying Italian tourists about noon Saturday. Diving recovery operations will begin again in the morning.
2. Sonia Sotomayor is the Supreme 1 Court’s newest justice. She took the oath of office Saturday from Chief Justice John Roberts. President Barack Obama has scheduled a White House reception for Sotomayor Wednesday.
3. Former Atlanta Falcons 2 Quarterback Michael Vick was back in an Atlanta suburb Saturday, apparently 3 talking to people about the dangers of dog fighting. Vick has vowed 4 to make dozens of appearances around the country to urge low-income young people to avoid any involvement with dog fighting.
4. Hawaii plans to close several beaches on its Big Island today as Hurricane Felicia moves closer to land. The National Weather Service says Felicia will be downgraded to a tropical storm or depression before it makes landfall. It peaked as a Category 4 storm earlier in the week.
