Do you know what the supreme court is? 你知道什么是最高法院吗？
The supreme court is the highest court in the United States. 最高法院是美国最高等的法院。
What does it do? 它的作用是什么？
The supreme court makes a final decision. 最高法院做终极决定。
When people have problems, they go to a small court. 如果人们有麻烦，可以去小法院。
When they don't like the decision of the small court, they go to a higher court. 如果他们不喜欢小法院的判决，可以到更高等级的法院申诉。
But they can not do anything if they don't like the decision of the supreme court. 但如果他们不喜欢最高法院的判决，就无法可施了。
There are nine judges on the supreme court, they can have their jobs until they die. 最高法院有9个大法官，他们可以终身任职。
