Zhang Yimou’s film “Not One Less” tells a simple 1 but moving story. Mr Gao, the only teacher of the Shuiquan Primary 2 School, has to stay away for a month to take care 3 of his sick mother. The village leader 4, Mr Tian, asks Wei Minxhi to take Mr Gai’s place until 5 he comes back. Minzhi is only a 13-yare-old girl who has finished 6 her primary school. When she is asked to do the job,she says she can read,write and sing. She gets the job because there is nobody 7 else in the village who can take it. The most important 8 thing for young Minzhi is not to lose 9 any more pupils form 10 the school—NOT—ONE—LESS—before Mr Gao returns 11!
At first Minzhi doesn’t know what her students need to learn. And she doesn’t know how to keep them quiet in class. She writes the lessons onto 12 the blackboard and then makes her students copy 13 them into tries notebooks. She tries to keep the students in the classroom by locking 14 them up in the classroom and running 15 after those who escape 16.
The naughtiest 17 pupil in her class is an 11-year-old boy named Zhang Huike.He causes 18 trouble 19 for Minzhi almost 20 every day. She waits at the gate of the TV station for two days till the boss 33 calls her.When Huike sees the crying Minzhi on television,he himself 34 starts crying,but he is also happy to see her. At last, both Minzhi and Huike go back to their village,together with the people form the TV station.
