A Syrian army air strike on a vegetable market in the northern city of Aleppo killed at least 25 people on Saturday.

A video posted on the internet by a local activist 1 group shows scenes of carnage as residents pull corpses 2 out of scorched 3 car frames. One road hit by the strike was covered with debris 4 from nearby buildings and was lined with bodies.

Earlier, an army ambush 5 in the Qalamoun mountains north of the capital, Damascus, killed at least 60 people on Friday. A UN activist group says the dead were rebels. But the Syrian National Coalition 6 says the dead were civilians 7.

Meanwhile, the official SANA news agency reports that the Syrian troops have killed at least 20 rebels in the al-Saen area of the central province of Homs. The report says the army forces also eliminated another rebel group in al-Hamidieh district of Homs.

Syria’s interior minister has vowed 8 to continue to fight against terrorism until security and stability are restored all over the country. Al-Shaar says the long-standing crisis in his country has attracted jihadists and al-Qaida-linked groups from all over the world to fight against the Syrian administration.
