定冠词
定冠词只有一个：the。它在辅音前读/e?/,在原音前读/ei/.在特别强调或单独读时读/ei/。例如：
the /ei/ author of the /e?/ book 这本书的作者
The /ei/ air is fresh.空气很清新。
He is the /ei/ only person who could do that.他是唯一能做那事的人。
定冠词the与指示代词these和that同源，有“这个，那个”的意思，但指示性比较弱，通常不重读。它和名词连用表示某个或某些特指的人或物。例如：
He carried on with career the after his father died.他在他父亲死后重振家业。
They decided 1 to carry out the plan as soon as possible.
他们决定尽快执行计划。
