The World Is Too Much With Us
The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers:
Little we see in nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid 1 boon 2!
This Sea that bares her bosom 3 to the moon;
The Winds that will be howling at all hours
And are up-gathered now like sleeping flowers;
For this, for every thing, we are out of tune;
It moves us not—Great God! I'd rather be
A Pagan suckled in a creed 4 outworn;
So might I, standing 5 on this pleasant lea,
Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn
Have sight of Proteus coming from the sea,
Or hear old Triton blow his wreathed horn.

与真实的自我形同陌路
为蝇头的微利失了灵魂
海在月光里涌动
风昼夜地吹
时间静谧如沉睡的花朵
我们丧失如许，对这些，都无动于衷。

这样，或许能使我站立于青草地
环望四周，宽慰我孤寂的心灵
看海神泊卢秋在海上生腾
