Dear Friend--
As our lives continue to move on and on and we tend to get busier and busier with more and more commitments 2 and obligations 3, sometimes it's difficult to find just the right moment to stop and say "thank you" to those who are most special to us. I'd like to take the time right now to thank you for being a friend.
Your friendship means a great deal to me--it's a steady part of my life that I can depend on, a positive, loving part of my life that helps me to be true to who I am. Because you accept me for exactly who and what I am--rather than what you think I should be--you allow me to develop and grow in my ways, and you help me to see the value in what I do and how I do it. I know that my world is a much better place for your presence 4 in it, and I thank you for your faithfulness 5, your kindness, your heartfelt criticisms 6 when they've been necessary, and your willingness to be who you are.
Life is a beautiful experience, made even more special by the presence of true friends. My life is much richer for your presence in it, and I want you to know that even though it may not be obvious all the time, I don't take your friendship for granted--I truly appreciate all that you are and all that I have become due to the great part that you play in my life.
