Jo: Today we’re going to look at an expression that you might not find in your English textbook
Jean: 是的，和汉语一样，英语里也是有着非常多的成语和俗话的，所以要想能听得懂英国人日常的说话聊天，就一定要来学学这些他们常用的通俗词语。Jo, 我们今天要来学习的新词是什么呢?
Jo: Today’s expression is ‘golden goal’.
Jean: Golden goal. 给我们讲讲这个词组的意思好吗？
Jo: Well, a golden goal is something that happens in football. It is a goal scored in extra time that gives instant victory.
Jean: 原来a golden goal可以叫它“金球制”，就是在足球加时赛中，先进球的一方将直接取得比赛的胜利的足球赛规则。
Jo: So you could say ‘China beat Japan in extra time with a golden goal.’
Jean: 就是说“中国足球队在加时赛中金球制胜，击败了日本队”。

B: Yes, but Manchester were lucky to get the golden goal. I didn’t think they were going to win.
Jean: Do you watch football Jo?
Jo: Sometimes. I like the idea of the golden goal. It makes games more exciting.

Jo: Yes. But sometimes it can be hard for the team that loses.
Jean: Why is that?
Jo: Well, you can dominate 2 a game, then one golden goal and you lose!
