Arabian Wisdom
The heart is the noblest member of the body. A wise man said that the worst of men is he who allows an evil 1 desire to take root in his heart; for he shall lose his manhood. A poet said:
The wise will keep
His treasure hid apart;
True gold is hidden in the heart,
A miner 2 never had to dig so deep.
Deal with people according to their deeds and not according to their words. Yet deeds are not worth the intentions which inspire them; so that each man shall be judged according to his intentions and not according to his deeds.
Lukman the Wise said to his sons:”There are three things which are possible only under three conditions: you may not know if a man be really good until you have seen him in his anger；you may not know if a man be brave until you have seen him in battles; you may not know if a man be a friend until you have come to him in necessity 3.”
阿拉伯智慧
心是人体最高尚的器官。有位智者说过,最坏的人是让恶念在心里扎根的人，因为他会丧失人性。诗曰：
智者有心眼，
珍宝分开埋；
真金藏心中，
矿工也难挖。
待人要观其行而不要听其言。然而行为又不及促成行为之动机重要；所以看人要看其动机，而不是看其行为。
智者鲁克曼对他的儿子说：“只有在三种情况下三件事才有可能：只有看到一个人发怒才能知道他是否真的生性善良；只有看到一个人战斗才能知道他是否勇敢；只有在困难时向朋友求助才能知道他是否是真的朋友。”
- We pray to God to deliver us from evil.我们祈求上帝把我们从罪恶中拯救出来。
- Love of money is the root of all evil.爱钱是邪恶的根源。
- He was a miner all his working life.他一辈子都是矿工。
- I think it is dangerous to be a miner.我认为当矿工是很危险的。
