  Chickens ure lean. A 4一ounce roasted chicken leg contains 265 calories and 15. 4 grams of fat,compared to us much as 389 calories and 30 grams of fat for an equalportion of steak.

  But beware of the skin. The skin on one chicken leg accounts for 57 calories. Remove the skin after you cook chicken.You can remove it before,but cooking it with the skin adds flavor and reduces the need for oil. If,however,you're cooking chicken with something else that will soak up the fat-soup,, for inatance--remove the skin before cooking.
