Hello, Nick Lucchinelli with the National Weather.

Taking a look at the satellite picture first. Tropical Cyclone 1 Ului over the Queensland coast is causing heavy rainfall with destructive winds. There's some cloud crossing Tasmania and southern Victoria, resulting in showers, and cloud over inland Western Australia is triggering patchy rain and thunderstorms.

Taking a look at the states now, there's still a cyclone warning for coastal 2 areas in Queensland, from Townsville to Yeppoon, with dangerous surf conditions for most of the coast. Showers are expected and winds increasing to gale 3, storm and hurricane force above the central coast during the morning.

And in New South Wales, there's possible isolated 4 showers in the southwest and northeast with dangerous surf conditions on the far north coast.

Isolated showers in the west as well for Victoria, cool to mild in the south and warm in the north.

Showers mainly above the west and south in Tasmania and a strong wind warning for most coastal areas.

To South Australia, there's isolated showers over the west coast clearing by mid-afternoon. Mild to warm above the south coast, warm to hot elsewhere.

Scattered 5 showers and a chance of thunderstorms for WA. The Northern Territory will see isolated showers near the north and west coasts.

Rain's expected for most of the major cities with a chance of a thunderstorm in Perth, Darwin will be mostly fine and windy in Alice Springs.

That's the National Weather.
