A: This is ⑴a nice set of wheels. How much did the ⑵dealer charge you for this?
B: A lot. *I probably got to moonlight for the rest of my life, but so what, it’s worth it. Come on, get in. Let’s take a drive.
A: Okay then, let’s go fast! Whoa! This thing can really accelerate 1 fast.
B: ⑶Check out what happens when I put on the brakes 2 suddenly. It can stop quickly.
A: Hey, just ⑷watch out for cops 3 or you’re gonna end up in the slammer. You know you tend to go fast?
B: Yes, I know it. I went through my last set of tires fast. I even had three flat tires in two weeks.
A: ⑸Now watch…some guys probably ⑹run a light and hit your car.
B: ⑺Cut out, would you?
Dialogue 2
B不想再住宿舍了,A极力劝他留下,因为外租公寓十分昂贵。
A: You should have seen the line at the housing 4 office. It took me an hour to make my dormitory 5 ⑴deposit for next year. Have you made yours yet?
B: No, I’m not sure I’m going to .
A: Why not? There’s not much time left. *Are you short of cash?
B: No, thanks. I am okay.
A: You’d better hurry up if you ⑵wanna a dorm room next September…
B: Well, actually, I am thinking about living off campus 6.
A: Do you have any idea how much that would cost?
B: I know it would be more expensive. I think I could ⑶handle it though. It’s that this dorm is so noisy that I can’t get anything done.
A: You should study in the library the way I do. ⑷Think of the money you’d save.
B: I’ve got to ⑸think it over some more.
A: I hope you will ⑹have second thoughts.
Dialogue 3

Kathleen: ⑷You were spying 9 on me, weren’t you? You probably rented those children.
Joe: Why would I spy 8 on you?
Kathleen: Because *I am your competition which you know perfectly 10 well, or you would not ⑸put up that sign *“just around the corner.”
Joe: The entrance to our store is around the corner. And there’s no other way of saying that. It’s not the name of our store. It’s where it is. And you do not own the phrase 11 “around the corner.”
Kathleen: What is that? What are you doing? You’re taking all the ⑹caviar! That caviar is a ⑺garnish?
Joe: Look, the reason I came into your store is because I was spending the day with annabell and matt. And I was buying them presents. *I’m the type of guy who likes to buy his way into the hearts of children who are his relative. And there’s only one place to find a children’s book in the neighborhood. That will not always be the case. And it was yours. And it is a charming 12 little bookstore. You probably sell what 350,000 worth of books in a year.
