Hello, I’m Carlos, this is cnnstudent news. This Monday we were reporting on a story that spend the Atlantic ocean twice. We are starting there looking at the US economy. Specifically, a look at the US unemployment rate, this is something a lot of people used to major how the overall economy is doing. On the first Friday of every month, the government announces the  on  employment rate, so that came out this past Friday. US has bended around 9 percent unemployment for most of the year. In November the number dropped to 8.6 percent, so that’s good news, right? Exports say it’s more like maybe. Yes the unemployment rate is the lowest since it’s been three years. Yes part of the reason for that is because more Americans got jobs. But another reason that the rate decrease just because a lot of people stop looking for jobs. When you do that, you are not included in the unemployment rate anymore. During the financial crisis, 8.8 million jobs were lost so far less than a third of those have been recovered. Next, a group of people who are all competing for the same job---republican presidential nominee 1, you’ve seen the candidates out in the campaign trial now we are less than a month away from the first contest of the primary season. It’s on Iowa, it’s on January 3rd and it’s actually not a primary, it’s a cocas that’s when a group of people get together and decide whom they want to support. The Des Moines register a newspaper took a poll recently asking which candidate like republican voters in Iowa will support for the nomination 2. First place was former US House Speaker Newt Gingrich; second US representative Ron Paul; third former governor MR; another candidate businessman HK got about 8 percent in this poll. But he announced on Saturday he is suspending his campaign. So Iowa is first on January 3rd then it is NH on January 10th and South C on the 21st as the political calendar’s hints up.

The water level in part of the Rhine is in a record low but that’s not what our next report today is about. It’s about what was found in the river when the water level dropped---bombs, two of them plus a far device that were all left from World War Two. These things sat under the surface of the river for 65 years and they might be old but they are still dangerous. Experts have to come out to fuse them. An official said that has been taken care of so things are safe now. That means the 45 thousand people who had to evacuate 3 can come back home. The bombs were found in the city of C had the population had to leave because of concerns for their safety. Volunteers helped to evacuate hospitals in Senior citizen centers. One local reporter said this kind of thing, believe it or not, is just part of life for some Germans. People in Germany generally it about it, I mean the dangers there it’s been for ages and now it’s been discovered, the dangers is going to be put aside and they would be out to go home. It doesn’t have to be a lot here the C bomb this weekend is an exception because it’s so big. Germany people have had to move but it doesn’t have Germany from time to time people have to leave for an afternoon and you know maybe for a morning when M discovered neither home and it’s generally taken care of usually without any massive out of a danger although sometimes things do go wrong and people do get hurt but generally it’s part of life in Germany you know although Germany is at the end of the war.
The results in for the first round of elections in Egypt. Citizens in that country went to the polls last week cast their voters for members of parliament. This is Egypt first elections since long-time president M was forced out power that happened during a political revolution early this year. The Motherland Brotherhood 4 is a group that was active in the revolution and the group’s political party got the most votes in this around of elections, got 40 percent. The Motherland Brotherhood is Egypt’s oldest and largest I organization. The strong showing the religious group was a trend in the elections. Voters cast their ballots 5 for I parties more than they did for secular 6 none religious parties. This is the beginning of an election process that has a lot of steps, the vote for president won’t happen until sometime the next year.
