Trade surplus here in China has risen sharply through December.
中国去年12月份贸易顺差显著扩大。
The trade surplus through this past month has come in at 31.6 billion yuan, led by strong exports.
上个月，由于出口表现强劲，贸易顺差达到316亿元。
That's up about 12 billion yuan from November.
较11月增长了约120亿元。
The General Administration of Customs says exports have increased 14 percent year-on-year in December.
中国海关总署表示，出口较上年同期增长了14%。
Imports have only increased around 6-percent.
而进口仅增长了约6%。
China is to launch a national survey on the resources of its territorial 1 islands this year.
今年，中国将启动全国海岛资源综合调查。
The survey will determine unspecified base points and baselines of the country's territorial waters around the islands.
此次调查将填补领海基点及海岛周边海域的基线等数据空白。
According to a national conference on maritime 2 affairs, work will also be undertaken to monitor the geological features of the country's important islands, including those in the South China Sea.
据国家海洋工作会议消息，此次调查将对部分重要海岛进行地形地貌专项调查，这些海岛就包括南海的岛屿。
The survey is set to start in the first half of the year and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016.
