Our show starts with a change in the air. The Trump 1 administration has ordered that airlines flying directly to the U.S. from eight other countries must keep passengers from carrying many electronic devices with them. They`d have to check them in the plane`s cargo 2 hold instead.

今天的节目首先是关于空中的变革。特朗普政府命令飞往美国的8个国家10个机场的飞机禁止游客携带多种电子设备登机。

The countries affected 3: Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

这8个国家分别是埃及、约旦、科威特、摩洛哥、卡塔尔、沙特阿拉伯、土耳其和阿拉伯联合酋长国。禁令要求乘客托运大型电子设备。

The devices affected: basically anything bigger than a smartphone, laptops, cameras, tablets, DVD players, gaming systems. They`d have to be part of the passenger`s check luggage. Medical devices are still allowed.

这些电子设备指的是，规格大于手机的电子设备，包括笔记本电脑、相机、平板电脑和Kindle便携式DVD播放器、比智能手机大的游戏设备等。这些电子设备需在经过检查后，放入托运行李中，但电子医疗设备不包含在本次禁令中。

The reason for the ban: concerns about terrorism. The Trump administration says it believes part of the al Qaeda terrorist group is close to being able to hide certain explosives in electronic devices and that they`d use them to target airplanes. The restrictions 4 do not apply to flight crews.

这一禁令的原因是出于安全考虑。特朗普政府表示，民用航班近年一直是恐怖组织的袭击目标，并且基地恐怖组织在策划新的袭击手段，包括在消费者使用的各种电子设备里安装爆炸装置。此外，机组人员并不受这一禁令影响。

The consequences: if the airports don`t comply with the order within 96 hours, their planes will not be allowed to fly to the United States.

The possible side affects: long security lines and flight delays, which occurred when similar restrictions were made in the past.

American officials say the rules won`t affect U.S. airlines because they don`t fly directly to America from the 10 international airports in the named countries. After the restrictions were announced, the United Kingdom followed with its similar rules, though there are some differences in the countries included in the British restrictions.

美国官员表示，这些禁令不会影响美国的航班，因为这些航班并不是从指定国家的机场直接飞往美国。在禁令宣布后，英国也效仿美国发布了类似的禁令，尽管内容存在一些不同。
