Federal authorities are now reportedly classifying the Boston Marathon explosions as a terrorist attack, but it's not yet known if this was a foreign or domestic attack.
Reports are also quoting federal officials saying that neither C-4 nor any other high grade explosives were wound after initial tests, which means there is a possibility these were crude explosive devices.
Now the Boston Marathon of course was marking the Patriots 1 Day and the explosion there also means it's the worst attack on the US mainland 9/11.
For some of the residents there, it's a day of patriotism 2, and athletic 3 competition.
To get an idea of the perspective of the residents there, I spoke 4 earlier to Nick Wan 5, who was at the Boston Marathon just moments before the explosions happened.
