   Digitization has transformed the landscape of our traditional banking 1 business. Transactions between companies or individuals are now made within a few mouse clicks. The rise of e-commerce in recent years has taken the payment process a step further by encouraging users to pay via their personal computers and mobile devices, such as tablets or mobile phones. While e-payments have brought about great opportunities, they also have posed great challenges. On the one side of the coin, easier access to one's financial resources not only offers convenience, but also has boosted consumption and growth.


 
  On the other side, e-payments require the involvement of multiple parties, including banks, third-party payment providers and telecom companies. This has made it all the more difficult to ensure consumers' account information is secure.
 
  So what does the future hold for e-payments, and how can regulators, banks and telecom companies coordinate 2 their efforts to ensure safe and efficient access to bank accounts?
