3. 插入语可以略读
插入语是对句子成分的解释或是补充说明，通常是些不重要的内容，其标志是前后都有逗号或破折号，很容易识别。命题者在句子中使用一些较长的插入语，目的是打断思路，阻碍理解过程，从而影响考生对全句主旨的把握。
例6 When the German cruise ship Wilhelm Gustloff was hit by torpedoes（鱼雷）fired from a Russian submarine in the final winter of World WarⅡ, more than 10,000 people —— mostly women, children and old people fleeing their final Red Army push into Nazi 1 Germany —— were packed aboard. (2004.6 CET6 Passage One)
译文：在二战结束前的最后一个冬天，德国游船古斯特洛伊夫号被俄国潜艇发射的鱼雷击中，当时船上有一万多人 ，其中大多数是为了逃离日益逼近的红军的纳粹德国妇女，孩子还有老人。
例7 The problem, most participants in the debate acknowledge, is that the MBA has acquired an aura (光环) of future riches and power far beyond its actual importance and usefulness. (2002.12 CET6 Passage One)
译文：大部分参加辩论的人认为，问题的关键是MBA获得者得到的是超越实际重要性和作用的未来财富和权力的光环。
