1. Attorneys for a Texas nurse accused of fatally shooting a mother and speeding away with the dying woman's newborn son say they plan to evaluate her mental state. 3. Republicans have pushed an election-year, 46-billion-dollar tax cut for most employers through a sharply divided House. The bill will go nowhere in the Democratic-controlled Senate, and the White House says President Barack Obama would veto it anyway.
4. And NASA has turned space shuttle Discovery over to the Smithsonian Institution, which is putting it on display at the National Air and Space Museum annex 4 near Dulles Airport in Virginia. Discovery will be displayed as if it just landed with its large payload bay doors closed.
