[00:18.11]and the fact that they are often caught

[00:32.20]to protect these animals.

[00:34.71]The tiger is a species under severe threat.

[00:39.43]there were eight sub-species of tiger,

[00:44.71]All five remaining species are endangered

[00:47.54]and although they are protected,

[00:49.38]the total number of tigers worldwide

[00:51.95]has dropped to 5,000.

[00:53.76]Why is this?Tigers are killed by hunters

[00:57.40]because it is falsely believed

[00:59.09]that parts of the tiger's body

[01:00.78]are good for people's health.

[01:02.91]Another reason for numbers have decreased

[01:05.10]is the loss of the tiger's natural habitat.

[01:08.06]To save these beautiful animals,

[01:09.97]we need to stop illegal hunting

[01:12.29]and extend 3 conservation programmes.
