[00:22.25]D ME AND A BUDDY 1 WERE WALKING
[00:25.39]behind an English pub 2 once,
[00:27.59]going back toour Canadian base,
[00:29.69]and we saw one of our planes come over heading
[00:32.24]for an American base just across the valley.
[00:35.56]One of its engines was on fire
[00:37.17]and we saw it hit the ground.
[00:39.51]We didn't know if it still had its bombs
[00:42.58]aboard or if it was coming back from Germany,
[00:44.83]so we didn't dare go near it.
[00:47.35]I tried to phone the American base,
[00:49.12]but I couldn't get through.
[00:50.61]The line just didn't work.
[00:52.33]Fire brigades came from all over,
[00:54.61]but nobody dared go near the plane
[00:56.69]because it was on fire
[00:58.29]and we couldn't find out
[00:59.43]if it still had its bombs and tanks full
[01:01.79]of petrol.The crew couldn't get out
[01:04.25]and we could here the men screaming
[01:05.68]and shouting and there was nothing
[01:08.03]we could do because of the bombs.

[01:14.04]it was on a training mission 3.
