Gale force winds of up to 100 kilometers an hour hit the east coast, carrying dust from the state's far west. Sydney Ferries has canceled its services and flights into Sydney have been diverted to Brisbane and Melbourne. Departing flights are also delayed. Strong winds will also hit Victoria and flood warnings have been issued for eastern districts. Meanwhile, in Queensland, a bushfire has forced the evacuation of several homes in the southeast.
