There is Paris Jackson revealing more about life of her famous father. She opened up to Oprah Winfrey about being raised by the king of hop 1, the good and the bad, including being victim of some intended bully 2 and that is how she is coping nearly three years after his death. ABC’s Paula Faires has more on the unique childhood and what’s next for Paris.
Nearly three years of the father’s death, Michael Jackson’s daughter is remarkably 3 growing up. Figuratively, “I think I’m going, I’m doing allright” and literally 4, “you’ve grown probably three inches”. We first met Paris Jackson, that 11-year-old girl, showing such poise 5 after tragically 6 losing her dad. “I just want to say I love him”.
And last night, Oprah’s Next Chapter, the now 14-year-old revealed her new home and her new life. In many ways, she is just like any other teen, attending school, “it’s more normal, it’s more fun”, hanging out with friends, even dealing 7 with bully. “Is it easy when they try to bully you?” “People have tried, but it doesn’t always work.” “People have tried to bully you?” “Yes.” “Really? Really! How so?” “Well, at school, and some people tried to cyber bully me, they tried to get to me with words, but that doesn’t really work.” “Do you think they are jealous?” “Maybe, I don’t know.”
Of course, Paris’s life will never be completely ordinary. “Do you still have tight security everywhere you go all the time?” “Unfortunately yes.” “How do you or your friends feel about that?” “It’s kind of creepy.”
And while Michael Jackson was often criticized for his parenting choices, Paris says that life as a Jackson was shockingly normal. “My dad was a really normal father when he lived with us.” Even some of these more unorthodox choices like the masks. “When we went out without him, we wouldn’t be recognized and could have a normal childhood.”
But it was hard to resist the wood of show beast, but unlike dad, she’s chosen acting 8. Starring in her first movie “London’s Bridge” and “The Three Kids”, and asked what bridges it out for her own, she says that it was her memory of her everyday life of her famous father that continues to drive her. “I just like remember something, I smile” For Good Morning America, Paula Faires, ABC News, New York.
And we hope she has a lot more smile, and we want to thank Oprah for the revealing interview.
