On the campus of one of America's most respected universities, there's sadness and fear.

Last Tuesday, Annie Le, a 24-year-old doctoral student in pharmacology went to work at this laboratory in New Haven 2, Connecticut. A CCTV camera caught her entering the building. But a few hours later, she disappeared. Police were called when her ID card, money, credit cards and a handbag were found in a third floor office. A thorough search of the five-storey building first uncovered the bloody 3 clothing behind a ceiling tile, then her body.

Annie was due to marry her fiancé Jonathan Widawsky on Sunday. Police say he isn't a suspect. The university's president offered his condolences.
"Our hearts go out to the family of Annie Le, to her fiancé, to her friends."
Police say they're analyzing 7 a large amount of physical evidence of the crime scene. Officer is sifting 8 through large bins 9 near the university, and a waste processing plant where the laboratory sends its rubbish. Earlier this year, Annie submitted an article to the campus magazine about crime at university facilities. With a little street smarts she wrote, "One can avoid becoming yet another statistic 10."
