   A total of 7.95 million college students are expected to graduate in 2017, according to the Ministry 1 of Education.

  The figure was released at an MOE conference on employment and entrepreneurship of college students held last Wednesday.

  Chen Baosheng, minister of education, said the numbers of college students who secured employed or started their own businesses upon graduation had increased in the last three years, adding comprehensive policy measures are still needed to cope with the "complicated and grim situation."
  据教育部部长陈宝生表示,在过去三年中,毕业后选择就业或者自己创业的大学生数量有所增长,并指出仍需综合性政策措施来应对“复杂和严峻的局势”。
  Chen said there should be guidance and incentives 2 for college students to work in small- and medium-sized enterprises, and work in education, culture, health and elderly care sectors 3.
  据陈宝生表示,应该指导和激励大学生到中小企业、教育、文化、卫生健康以及老年人护理等部门工作。
  Moreover, Chen called for improved policies that encourage college students to start their own businesses, such as an option to take a gap year, entrepreneurial experience for credits, among other policies.
  此外,陈宝生还呼吁改善鼓励大学生自主创业的政策,例如选择一个间隔年、创业学分积累以及其他政策。
