Gang violence, corruption 1, and economic desperation have for years been driving thousands of migrants from the Northern Triangle countries of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to seek safety and opportunity in other countries, particularly the United States. And over the past several years, many of these migrants have been unaccompanied minor 2 children.
