Caesarean section 剖腹产
人们说，上帝在5月27日不小心打了个小盹儿，不然，怎能让东西方娱乐圈里最引人关注的两个“小公主”在同一天诞生?于是乎，一大帮娱记们在这一天忙得不亦乐乎，这边既要关注王菲的第二次生育，那边又要报道远在纳米比亚的安吉丽娜·茱莉。对于如此琐碎的新闻，不管大家感兴趣与否，至少它可以帮我们了解一个词caesarean section（剖腹产）。

对于Caesarean，其实大家并不陌生，Caesar——凯撒大帝嘛！怎么跟生孩子挂在一起了?说白了，其实也挺简单，传说凯撒大帝为剖腹产所生，所以人们常用Caesarean，或Caesarean birth，或者Caesarean section来形容“剖腹产”。例如：
It was a difficult birth； she had to have a Caesarean． 因为难产， 她必须得做剖腹产手术。
另外，新闻中的labor常用来形容“分娩”，如a difficult labor（难产）；a natural labor（自然分娩）。或者，我们也可用词组in labor来形容“分娩”，如：
His wife is in labor． 她妻子正在分娩。
- We are never late in satisfying him for his labor.我们从不延误付给他劳动报酬。
- He was completely spent after two weeks of hard labor.艰苦劳动两周后，他已经疲惫不堪了。
