在Friends中Joey在一部战争片接任角色，临去拍摄现场前他对大家说：
I’m off to fight the Nazis 1. 我现在得跟法西斯作战去了。
1. off在这里表示的是出发或是离开的意思。
出去旅游：We’re off. Off we go.
2. 表示“今天我不用去上班”可以有：
I don’t have to work today.
I am off today.
如果比较这两句的话是不是用off更简洁呢？！
3. 其实off还可以表示“某家店不开张”。如：
We’re off today. 今天我们不开张。
4. 再看几个句子：
She lives off campus.
她住在校外。
I want to move off campus.
我想搬出校住。
那么住在校内呢？对了，on campus.
5. 另外经常看美剧的同学还会听到这样一句：
Off my sofa.
给我从沙发上下来。
不过完整的说法应该是：Keep off/keep away from my sofa.
6. off表示“取消”
Tell them the whole thing is off.
告诉他们整件事已经取消了。
7. on and off: 分分合合
记得Rachel说过这样的话吗？I and Ross have been on and off, on and off; but I feel someday we’ll be on.
我和Ross分分合合不知多少次了，但我总觉得有一天我们又能在一起了。
那么从上句可以看出on-and-off relationship指的就是分分合合的恋情。
8. I’m off to bed right now.
我现在要去睡觉了。
可以不用go to bed哦~~
