Leann Rimes was opening up to Katie Couric about life after treatment for stress and anxiety and holding back tears as she talked about her road to recovering.
I felt like I had the opportunity to just start all over again. So OK. We are gonna, we'll take a moment, we're in the pot.
For Leann Rimes, turning 30 this past August, it was a pivotal time, a time for reflection and healing. So she volunteerly entered an impatient treatment facility for 1 month, the day after her birthday.
-Why did you seek treatment? You know, I really stress anxiety other people.
-That is it.
-So no no. She's got eating, an eating disorder 1.
-Yeah.
-She's got some drug or alcohol problems.
-It was so simple, so complicated. That's the thing. It was as simple as I was unhappy and stressed and wanting to live a happier life, a joyful 2 life.
Along with sickly treatment, Leann welcomed the new decade with a 30th birthday bash. That was also a * to her 20s.
-Your cakes did not have commensurate 'happy birthday Leann'. One said 'die, 20s die'.
-Yeah.
-And the others said 'alrighty, rusting 3 kiss 20s'.
-Yes.
-Were they really that bad?
-They were interesting. It definitely had as challengers. But there were a lot of life lessons in my 20s for sure.
Life lessons that included learning the delicate balance of living her private life in the public eye, especially her extra-married love affair with now-her-husband Eddie Cibrian.
-You got married last year. How is married life treating you?
-It's good. I have a really great partner crime. He is a sweetheart. He is really kind and loving to me. And, you know, we have 2 wonderful kids of his half the time. And I love, I love him to death. I love that part of mine. I really do.
Her other love is still music. A new album called Spitfire will be released this spring. She's co-written 8 of the songs and she's telling anyone who listen exactly what she feels.
I really just have to take a stand for myself and be who I am.
