 Leading our news this morning, Treasurer 1 Joe Hockey is urging Western Australia to reform its own economy amid the growing row of the carve up of the GST. Western Australia wants the biggest slice of GST revenue with its shares set to fall below 30 cents in the dollar. The row is set to come ahead on Friday at the Council of Australia’s Governments Meeting in Canberra.

A Queensland man will face court today charged with murdering his wife. Forty-eight-year-old Julie Hutchison was reportedly missing from a Townsville property four days ago, and her body is yet to be found. Police arrested her husband Michael Hutchison at the weekend and charged him late yesterday. 
 
Two regional cities in South Australia are likely to be without gas for the rest of the week. About 40,000 residents in Port Pirie and Wyalla have had their gas supplies cut because of ruptured 4 pipeline 5. It’s not know what caused the rupture 3, but it’s likely to take at least five days to fix.
 
And Nobel Prize Winner German author Günter Grass has died at the age of 87. Grass’s best known for his anti-Nazi novel the Tin Drum which was published in 1959.
