Syrian minister of national reconciliation 1 says he is willing to meet the Syrian opposition 2 leader Moaz Alkhatib to begin peace talks.
Ali Haidar however, says the dialogue shouldn't include any pre-existing conditions.
"There are no pre-conditions or compromises asked to be made by anyone for dialogue. The only thing asked for is to agree on the dialogue and believe in the dialogue as the technique of a political solution to end the Syrian crisis."
Last week, the head of the Syrian opposition coalition 3 Moaz al-Khatib launched an initiative for dialogue with the Syrian regime, provided pro-Assad security forces release of more than 160-thousand prisoners.
However, the Syrian government has asked the opposition for the names of the prisoners they claim were arrested.
At the same time, on the ground in Syria, rebel forces have reportedly captured a military air base near Aleppo in the north after days of clashes with security forces.
The reported capture comes a day after rebels in the north-east overran Syria's biggest hydro-electric dam.
