The question of the history textbook is not just an issue between China and Japan. Rather it is an issue between Japan and all the Asian countries and people throughout Asia. If the past history of aggression 1 started by Japanese militarists is denied and if the historical facts are distorted, it will not only hurt the feelings of the Chinese people,but also those of people throughout Asia. I don't think this is an issue that should be regarded as interference in Japan's internal affairs. Rather,this is a serious issue that will have a bearing on whether or not the people of Japan and of other Asian countries,including China,can develop a friendly relationship from generation to generation. So it is also in the interest of Japan to have this problem solved.
