Death toll rises to 5 in construction platform collapse

NANJING, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Three more workers died in hospital, bringing the death toll 1 to five in platform collapse 2 at a construction site in east China's Jiangsu Province.
By 11 p.m., four others injured were still receiving treatment, and among them, one was in critical condition, said a spokesman with the Funing county government.
Nine workers were working on the platform when it fell at about 11:10 a.m. at the site of a company manufacturing facilities for offshore 3 wind power farm in Funing county, said the spokesman. Two of them died on the scene.
Three of the relevant managers have been in police custody 4 and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
