MADRID, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona this Thursday announced that they have reached an agreement with Mexican midfielder, Jonathan Dos Santos to extend his contract with the club until the end of 2015.
The contract extension is another show of faith from FC Barcelona in their youth system and comes just two days after 18-year-old Rafinha Alcantara agreed to extend his deal with Barca until the end of June 2014.
Dos Santos, whose brother Geovani, now at Tottenham, also came through the Barcelona youth system, formed part of the Barcelona squad 1 that won 3-2 away to AC Milan on Wednesday night. Although he did not play the 21-year-old has made six first team appearances for Barcelona, as well as playing 64 times for the Barca B-team. He also has seven appearances for the Mexican national team.
Dos Santos' new deal includes a 30 million euro buyout clause, although it is now possible that Barcelona could loan him to another BBVA Primera Liga club in January in order for him to gain more experience in the Spanish top-flight.
