Sam Salter是个比较低调的歌手，但他出的专辑确是张张精致.他早年在家乡洛杉矶的唱诗班中担任重要角色，深受两位灵魂大师的影响，机缘巧合被Babyface的老搭档L.A. Reid发掘并签约LaFace。1997年，他发行了个人的首张专辑"It's On Tonight"，口碑很不错，Sam Salter仅出了两张专辑就消失了，在歌迷们表示遗憾的同时也从此爱上了这个充满魅力的声音，而且他中慢版的抒情R&B也深受歌迷喜爱。
