Italy beat Armenia 3-1 in World Cup qualifier
YEREVAN, Armenia, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Andrea Pirlo scored one goal and set up another as Italy labored 1 to a 3-1 win over Armenia in European zone World Cup 2014 qualifying Friday.
The match took place in Hrazdan stadium which has a capacity of 50,000.
Pirlo converted a spot kick to put Italy ahead in the 11th minute following Hrayr Mkoyan's handball. But Armenia leveled in the 28th through Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The visitors restored their lead shortly after the hour mark when Daniele De Rossi headed in Pirlo's cross off the underside of the crossbar, before Pablo Osvaldo sealed the win with his third goal in as many qualifying matches.
