BEIJING, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Supreme 1 People's Court (SPC) on Wednesday announced plans to improve its work style, echoing a call by the newly elected leadership of China's ruling party to reject extravagance and reduce bureaucracy.
The SPC's plans are based on building closer ties with the public, promoting judicial 2 transparency, giving voices to people from all social sectors 3 in judicial affairs, curtailing 4 its meetings, improving the style of its internal documents and circulars, and making fieldwork surveys more efficient.
Specific plans include broadcasting trials live on the Internet, putting referee 5 documents online, forbidding meeting in luxurious 6 hotels, controlling the number of meetings, and receiving inspectors 7 in simple ways.
In a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee on Dec. 5, the newly elected leadership adopted a document making explicit 8 requirements on how Political Bureau members should improve their work style in eight aspects.
The new leadership has pledged to reject extravagance and reduce bureaucratic 9 visits and meetings, in a bid to win trust and support from the people.
