BEIJING. Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- A fire that broke out in an under-construction IKEA site in Beijing's Daxing District on Friday evening has been controlled, and there are no casualties, the city's fire department has said.
The department said they received an alarm at 7:34 p.m., and 15 fire trucks were dispatched to extinguish the fire immediately.
A worker on the site told Xinhua that some flammable building materials had been stored in the building.
With an investment of at least 3 billion yuan (800 million U.S. dollars), the "Inter 1 IKEA Center" is intended to become the largest IKEA store in the world.
